In one way or another, we spend each day of our lives learning. It is therefore important—especially for children—that they have the very best support so as to learn in a way that fulfills their potential. For too many children, learning is a threat rather than a thrill.
Are you increasingly concerned that your child is falling behind at school and this is demotivating them? Have you tried helping them with homework, and perhaps even invested in extra resources with but frustrating results? If you can relate, yet want to do everything you can to help your child succeed, then the services we offer may be the answer you have been searching for.
We offer individual and small group sessions with multiple lessons per week based on assessed needs. Individual education plans are designed to engage students, making learning enjoyable. Sessions ensure learning is supported and constructed within a community framework that builds confidence, encourages thinking, and advances communication skills.
Too often in traditional classroom settings a child can feel unseen, become voiceless, and lose confidence, falling through the cracks when their learning needs are not met. We ensure that every one of our students receives the help they need to learn—and enjoy doing so! At Helpingme2Learn, every child gets the space and support they need to improve their level of achievement.
Some children need additional support to reach their age related targets. Some are secure in their knowledge but, given the opportunity, could increase their achievement level. Others may need greater challenges because they are gifted. Whatever needs and aspirations you and your child have, we can help them reach their learning goals.
Small gaps in learning, left unattended over time, can result in significantly low levels of attainment. From the start of our relationship together, we assess each child’s age-related learning gaps and plan an individualized program of learning, enabling them to meet or exceed age-related targets. Individual education plans are drafted and both parents and child have the opportunity to agree on targets.
We make use of a wide range of online resources, creating engaging and enjoyable sessions. Students are encouraged to use ‘thinking out loud’ to reflect, practice, and consolidate their learning. Core skills are developed such as communication, collaboration, creativity, critical thinking and questioning as students progress through the curriculum. We focus on facilitating learning in such a way that every child learns it is okay to make mistakes—and learn from them! A safe environment is created to build confidence and trust which motivates students and fosters a positive attitude to learning. Children are empowered to see themselves as capable learners and acquire the tools to begin learning independently.
First and foremost, learning should be fun! It should also be suitable to the learner’s ability and interests and be culturally relevant. It should make good use of technology where appropriate and provide a measurable outcome.
